For Crawley RFC’s Under 9s, the day was a proud moment

On Sunday, February 15th, Uckfield RFC hosted an exciting and empowering Girls-Only Rugby Festival, and two young players from Crawley RFC's Under 9s team were among the participants. The event brought together talented girls from across the region to celebrate the sport of rugby, showcase their skills, and foster teamwork in a fun and supportive environment.

The festival was a fantastic opportunity for these young athletes to challenge themselves, play in a competitive yet friendly atmosphere, and connect with like-minded girls passionate about rugby. With several teams competing in age-appropriate matches, the festival provided the perfect platform for these future stars to shine, as they gained invaluable experience on the field.

Crawley RFC's Under 9s duo Babsi and Ellie, though the youngest on the pitch, showed exceptional grit, teamwork, and sportsmanship, embodying the spirit of the festival. Their enthusiasm was contagious, inspiring both their teammates and opponents alike. For them, it was not just about playing the game; it was about being part of a growing movement where girls can confidently take their place in rugby, a sport traditionally dominated by boys.

The event was a testament to the growth of girls' rugby in the area, and Uckfield RFC did an outstanding job in organizing an event that was inclusive, engaging, and, most importantly, fun for all. With the support of coaches, families, and volunteers, the girls were able to fully enjoy the day, making new friends and learning from each other.

For Crawley RFC’s Under 9s, the day was a proud moment. Their participation in this festival is just one of many steps on their rugby journey. The experience not only honed their skills but also boosted their confidence and love for the game.

The rugby festival was a huge success, and the Crawley RFC players left Uckfield with a renewed sense of excitement for the sport, eager to return to training and continue developing their talents.

As the popularity of girls' rugby continues to grow, events like these are essential in creating a positive and welcoming environment for girls to thrive and pursue their passion for the game. We look forward to seeing more of our local stars shine in future festivals and competitions.

Keep an eye out for the next opportunity to watch the Crawley RFC Under 9s in action—this is just the beginning of their rugby adventure!
